Who We Are

Since 1996, we have taken up the mandate to be the voice of the banking and finance industry to position its social and economic contributions to the economy favorably and combat the then negative image/perception of the industry. 
The Association was founded by pioneer Communication professionals through encouragement by Banks Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) with a joint purpose of collectively changing the not too positive perception of the industry back in the day.

To fuel its objectives, the Association has continued to undertake various programmes and intermediation on behalf of Deposit Money Banks with a view to earning favorable understanding for the banking industry.

We host several awareness programmes and other activities to engage the public and other major stakeholders on developments in the financial sector and have through the process contributed to the stability of the industry and consequently shaped positive perception of Banks in the country.

Babajide A. SIPE

President

Group Head, Brand Transformation & Digital Marketing | Bank of Industry Limited

Jide Sipe is the Group Head, Brand Transformation and Digital Marketing at the Bank of Industry, where he is responsible for reinforcing the bank’s relevance in national industrial transformation and promoting the impact of the various funding projects initiated by the Bank.

Prior to joining BOI, Jide was the Head, Marketing and Corporate Communication at Ecobank Nigeria. He spearheaded several indigenous campaigns positioning the Bank as the go-to financial institution for SME Pan African trade and transactions. He also worked at GTBank for over a decade, where he was responsible for brand management and experiential marketing.

Jide is a member of several professional institutions such as: the Nigerian Institute for Public Relations (NIPR); National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN); Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON); Chartered Management Institute (CMI) UK.

He is the current President of the Association of Communication and Marketing Professionals in Banks (ACAMB).

Chinwe Bode-Akindele

1st Vice President

Chinwe Bode-Akinwande (CBA) is an accomplished marketing communications practitioner. With over 20years working experience in brand communication, marketing, strategy, digital marketing, humanitarian advocate and innovations cutting across the public and private sectors. Listed among the top 50 most influential women in Marketing and Corporate Communications for three consecutive years 2023 ,2024 and 2025 by Women in Marketing & Communication Conference/Awards (WIMCA). Leading Ladies Africa 100Women Honoree for 2019 and 2025.

Currently Head, Sponsorship, Partnerships, Events and Collaborations and double hats heading Digital Marketing at FirstBank. Worked with UNICEF as Head, Product Line & Marketing division, and Head, Corporate Communications at Zmirage Multi-Media Limited, Selcroft Associates. Also worked with Ibeto Group and LynxTronix Computers.

CBA, author of 4 books holds Bsc. in Banking/Finance and a master’s degree in Business Administration, specialisation in Marketing, from University of Nigeria Nsukka. Also a certified practitioner in Social Media marketing by Hootsuite Academy; certified on Strategic Brand Management at Austin University Texas, Digital Marketing at Edu Pristine USA and Consulting at Harvard School of Continued Education, Boston, USA. Full member ISMN; Fellow, NIMN; Member, NIM & ARCON. Full member Sustainability Professionals Institute of Nigeria (SPIN)

Outside CBA’s 9-5 , she is a Pastor, Co – founder of Singles Connect, Founder Chinwe Bode-Akinwande Foundation (CBAFoundation) that advocates and cater for underprivileged widows and their children under their 5point agenda to have touched over 11,400 lives and , Podcast host for – Hope for the Widow with over 53,000 listenership.

Morolake Philip-Ladipo

2nd Vice President

Morolake Philip-Ladipo brings over 14 years of dynamic experience in Marketing and Communications across diverse industries including Mobile and Consumer Electronics, FMCG, and Financial Services. With a strong focus on innovation and resourcefulness, Morolake is driven by a passion for excellence and a commitment to impactful initiatives such as Women Empowerment, Leadership, Mentoring, Networking, and Relationship Building.

Her expertise spans a wide range of capabilities including Brand Building, Storytelling, Marketing Communications, Campaign Management, Digital Marketing, and the development and execution of Growth Strategies.

Morolake’s academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) degree in Industrial & Labour Relations from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, as well as a Diploma in Business Studies from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos. Demonstrating her commitment to continuous professional development and staying at the forefront of marketing trends, Morolake has earned a Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute (UK). Furthermore, she holds a prestigious certification in Sustainable Marketing, Media, and Creative from the renowned Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership, underscoring her dedication to shaping the marketing landscape with innovation and sustainability principles

As an exco of the Association of Corporate Affairs Managers of Banks, Morolake Philip-Ladipo brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to driving forward the objectives of the association with dedication and enthusiasm.

She is currently the PR and Communications Manager at Wema Bank 

Olugbenga Owootomo

General Secretary

Olugbenga Owootomo is a seasoned communications, brand, and product marketing leader with over a decade of cross-functional experience within Nigeria’s financial services sector. He currently serves as Head, Brand Marketing at Polaris Bank Limited, where he leads the stewardship of the Bank’s master brand and oversees integrated marketing strategies across retail, cards, and digital banking portfolios.

A results-driven strategist, Olugbenga has successfully delivered high-impact campaigns that drive measurable business outcomes. Notably, he was part of the team that launched Polaris Bank’s Digital Banking Platform – VULTe, surpassing its six-month KPI by over 50% within four months, and has executed large scale sponsorships and national activations that strengthened brand affinity and visibility. His expertise spans brand architecture, brand governance, media planning and buying, budget ownership, PR and reputation management, event management, vendor governance, and experiential marketing.

Prior to his marketing role, Olugbenga built a strong foundation in commercial and retail banking, excelling in business development, credit creation, asset recovery, and relationship management across institutions including Polaris Bank (formerly Skye Bank) and First Bank of Nigeria.

Olugbenga is an Associate Member of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and a Member of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN). He is widely regarded for his leadership, organizational discipline, and ability to align brand initiatives with business growth and stakeholder value creation.

Ademola Adeshola

Asst. General Secretary

Ademola Adeshola, MBA, MNIMN, ARPA is a Brand, Communications and Sustainability Executive with over 16 years of extensive experience in shaping corporate reputation, driving growth and leading high-performing teams within Nigeria’s financial services and marketing communications sectors.

He currently serves as the Head of Brand, Communications & Sustainability at Parallex Bank, where he provides strategic leadership for brand positioning, corporate communications, stakeholder engagement and ESG implementation, working closely with executive management to deliver enterprise-wide impact.

Ademola’s career spans leadership roles across banking, advertising, Public Relations, consulting and digital communications, where he has led strategy for major brands. He is recognised for his strength in brand experience design, enterprise storytelling, culture building, and aligning brand strategy with business objectives.

He holds an MBA from Rome Business School, Italy, and is a member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) and the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN).

Halima Ishaq

Treasurer

Halima is an accomplished Communications Specialist known for her excellent relationship-building skills and strategic communication expertise. She currently serves as the Head of Corporate Communications at Jaiz Bank Plc, Nigeria’s premier non-interest financial institution.
She is responsible for both internal and external communications, devising processes and systems that enhance the Bank’s visibility, productivity, efficiency, and growth. She was instrumental in restructuring the Bank’s Corporate Communications Department into a comprehensive team equipped to manage and promote the Bank’s brand effectively.
Prior to her current position, Halima served as the Head of Internal Communications & Brand Management at Unity Bank Plc. Here, she managed bank-wide internal communications and brand management. She played a crucial role in the Bank’s corporate rebranding project and the marketing communications strategy for its multi-billion Naira recapitalisation plan.
Her Skills and Competencies include excellent customer service, strategic internal communication planning, corporate branding, People and resource administration.
Her Ph.D. in Communications & Media Studies is in progress (Cyprus International University).
She holds a Masters in Business Administration, Postgraduate Diploma in Management and a B.A. in Mass Communications from Bayero University, Kano. Halima is an Associate Member, Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
Halima’s blend of academic qualifications and professional experience underlines her proficiency in communication strategies, making her a valuable asset in driving corporate communication and branding initiatives. 

Unoaku Sheidu

Treasurer

A strategic communications and marketing leader with eight years of progressive experience at Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO) within the Corporate Communications Unit. Currently responsible for leading Product Marketing, Brand Campaigns, and Global Partnerships, with a strong track record of delivering integrated initiatives that drive market positioning, stakeholder engagement, and business value.

Played a key role in the successful execution of flagship, large-scale platforms including the GTCO Food & Drink Festival, GTCO Fashion Weekend, and the Annual Autism Conference, alongside high-impact Corporate Social Responsibility programmes that reinforce brand equity and community influence.

Currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA, in view) at Imperial College London, further strengthening strategic leadership, global business insight, and executive decision-making capabilities.

Abiodun Coker

Publicity Secretary

Abiodun Coker, is the Team Lead, Media Relations, United Bank for Africa. A Results-driven media Relations and communication professional with over 12 years of experience in crafting compelling stories, managing media relations, and developing strategic communication plans. Proven track record of delivering high-impact campaigns and driving engagement across various audiences. Abiodun has also contributed immensely in building the UBA brand equity and positioning it as a top 5 financial powerhouse.

Macqueen Afolabi

Social Secretary

Macqueen Afolabi is a high-impact communications expert and brand strategist with a proven track record of elevating corporate identities within Nigeria’s financial and media sectors. Currently serving as a Corporate Communications Executive at Zenith Bank Plc, Macqueen specializes in media relations, crisis management, and strategic brand positioning.

Her strategic insight was most notably demonstrated when she authored the winning entry that secured Zenith Bank’s first Euromoney “Nigeria’s Best Bank” award in the last 17 years. She also serves as a critical link in the bank’s fintech evolution, contributing UI/UX writing for digital products like FinoPay and eaZyByZenith.

Macqueen has been instrumental in the foundational success of major institutions, most notably as a member of the Pioneer Set for LOTUS Bank Limited. During her time there, she facilitated the launch of the bank’s official website, mobile app, and internet banking platforms. Her operational efficiency was also demonstrated by executing location branding for 11 of the bank’s branches/Digital Service Centres (DSCs) within just two months.

Prior to her work in banking, Macqueen built a formidable reputation in the media industry at Connect Nigeria TV (CNTV). As a Presenter, Voice-Over Artist and Content Creator, she hosted major corporate fairs and curated viral content that achieved the company’s highest-ever digital traction.

Driven by a commitment to continuous mastery, Macqueen’s professional excellence is backed by a world-class education. She holds an M.Sc. in Corporate Communication from Rome Business School (RBSN) and an M.Sc. in Media and Entertainment from Valencian International University, Spain. She earned her foundational B.Sc. in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos (UNILAG)

She also holds professional certifications in Digital Marketing (Google), Islamic Banking (CIFA), and Professional Ethics (CIBN).

Tolulope Onipede

2nd Vice President

Tolulope is a seasoned professional with over 17 years of dedicated experience in social impact and corporate communication. She has worked across both donor-funded and for-profit enterprises, with a special focus on value-add projects. 

Drawing from her extensive experience managing health-focused USAID and DFID transformative initiatives in the development sector, where she began her career, Tolulope joined Guaranty Trust Bank to lead Corporate Social Responsibility Investment Initiatives. These initiatives span across Community Development, Health, Education, the Environment, and the Arts. She rose through the ranks to manage several other areas of Corporate Communication, including brand and event campaigns management, product marketing, and integrating these into meaningful marketing communication strategies.

Currently, Tolulope is the Head of Corporate Communication for Guaranty Trust Bank, now a subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Holding Company. She is responsible for overseeing the Bank’s communication strategy, from marketing campaigns to stakeholder engagement.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Ibadan and an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, UK. She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants and has attended several executive management programs around the world.

A passionate globetrotter, Tolulope loves traveling for cultural experiences and has set a goal of visiting every country in the world. She is also deeply committed to contributing to impactful projects, actively participating as a dedicated member of the Toastmasters club and volunteering to support initiatives across the globe.

Ikechukwu Iheagwam

Assistant Secretary General

Iyke is a versatile professional with a proven track record in various aspects of banking, including events and sponsorships, brand management, media & public relations, and entrepreneurship. With a strong commitment to sustainability, he currently serves as the Program Manager for Entrepreneurship within Access Holdings Sustainability Unit. Iyke brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role, driving initiatives that promote sustainable business practices and support budding entrepreneurs.

As the Program Manager for Entrepreneurship in the Sustainability Unit, he is responsible for designing and implementing programs that promote sustainable entrepreneurship. He collaborates with internal teams, external partners, and government agencies to support aspiring entrepreneurs, foster innovation, and drive economic development within communities.

Iyke is a dynamic leader who is passionate about driving positive change through sustainable entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility. With his diverse skill set and strategic vision, he continues to make a significant impact within the Access Group and the broader community.

He is a consummate professional with a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs (MPIA) and belongs to several certified bodies including the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). He is an enthusiastic, self-motivated, easy going, reliable, responsible and hard-working person. 

Oze K. Oze

1st Vice President

Oze K. Oze is 1st Vice President of ACAMB. An eclectic scholar and bibliophile, Oze has over 25 years impact-oriented experience traversing marketing and corporate communications, content marketing, management consulting, library and information management, thought leadership, knowledge management, development writing, publications management and conference management. At present he is Head of Content Management, Internal Communications & Merchandising at FirstBank Nigeria, with concurrent support services across the FirstBank Group and FBN Holdings Group. At FirstBank he previously led teams in marketing and corporate communications functions over the years impacting publications, conferences, corporate social responsibility, brand management and advertising. He has also served variously as editorial board member, editor, and producer of many publications, TV programmes, conferences, documentaries, and has widely published articles to his credit. Oze is a fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria and Institute of Management Consultants, a member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and Nigerian Institute of Training and Development. Oze, an ordained minister in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), is a community and sustainable development enthusiast and an executive member of a few CBOs. He is a mentoring and coaching buff by nature. His current reading and research interests straddle development, leadership, Christianity, culture and communication.

Rasheed Bolarinwa

President

Rasheed Bolarinwa is one of Nigeria’s exciting and award-winning marketing and corporate communications professional whose craft and charisma have positively influenced the fortunes of the profession (and brands he has been associated with) northwards.

Rasheed is one of the few marcom practitioners that have a good mix of the academia and foot-soldier experience in a field that has seen tremendous global growth, buoyed by the social media and increasing ability of the sector to safeguard reputations, support growth of brands and enhance thought leadership.

Rasheed’s over two decades marcom odyssey (post-qualification), has seen him apply his well-honed skills in journalism, public relations, marketing, corporate communications, strategic brand management, insurance, HR, consulting and banking. He is a thorough-bred-communicator and a certified Integrated Marketing Communications Practitioner and brand management professional educated with multiple Master’s degree spiced with further function-specific and leadership trainings in top class local and foreign institutions under his belt.

In an era where the industry is facing threatening headwinds from unschooled practitioners, pretenders and impostors, Rasheed Bolarinwa has continued to uphold the tenets of best practice, driven by an uncompromising commitment to excellence and professionalism – He is indeed, made of sterner stuff!

He is a member of the current Executive Committee of ACAMB holding the position of President. He was the immediate past two-term Secretary General of the Association.

He belongs to key Professional Association’s in the Marcom space. A Fellow of National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Registered Practitioner & Member, Association of Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) among others.
